- The bar here doesn’t serve proper beer.
- I paid eighty dollars for great seats at the station.
- I left Bob’s coat on top of Tom’s Honda.
- Watch your attitude when I introduce you to the producer,
- Dottie wants a little water later.
[ ai ]
- The waiter dropped the plate with my steak on it.
- I can’t stay here too late because I made a train reservation.
[ ju: ]
- That studious guy reaches conclusions that elude other students.
- It’s my duty to reduce the intrusions on the studio owner’s privacy.
[ r-less ]
- Be careful oh those pears Peter left on the stairs.
- I’m sure you’re going to cure the poor girl.
[ t, d (flap) ]
- I’m just sitting here eating some bitter chocolates.
[ ɒ ]
- John likes Bob, but Bob doesn’t like John.
- A: Say, can you direct me to Grand Central Station? I came to New York just today.
- B: To die? What’s the matter with you? Don’t say such a strange thing.
- A: Oh, dear. Looks like we’ve got a major failure to communicate here.
