Staff: Hello and welcome to the museum. Is there anything I can help with today?
Student: Yeah, actually, there is. I missed the exhibition last week, but I really needed to see it. Is there any chance I can attend the same exhibit now or soon?
Staff: Well, you can attend the exhibition at any time because we are always open. However, the exhibition usually only features a small portion of collections at a time and they rotate out, meaning we don’t have the same stuff on display for very long. Last week was an exception.
Student: Oh yikes. So, is there any way that I can see some handcrafted art from Native Americans?
Staff: I’m afraid not. Those are only displayed during special events.
Student: Well, are there any special events coming up?
Staff: None that I imagine are soon enough for your needs. Although, I can’t be sure. What do you need to see them for?
Student: I have a thesis paper to write, so I need to do research on these handcrafted art pieces for that.
Staff: And the deadline of this paper?
Student: Umm… two weeks from tomorrow.
Staff: Okay… let me double-check the schedule… unfortunately, we do not have another special event within this timeframe.
Student: Oh man. I wish I hadn’t missed it last week! Things just got hectic and before I knew it the week was over and I hadn’t gone.
Staff: Try not to get in too much of a panic. I’m sure there’s something we can work out.
Student: What, really? I mean, I don’t know what can be done. I’ll probably fail this paper and.
Staff: Like I said, don’t fret! What I can do is get the museum guide’s email, the one who lead guided tours last week. And then I’ll give that email to you and hopefully you can get more information.
Student: There’s no guarantee though that I’ll be able to see the pieces.
Staff: Well, there’s no guarantee of anything, really, so you’re correct. Although, if you are polite and explain your circumstances, I’m sure that others will be willing to do what that can to help you just like me.
Student: I sure hope so! Which reminds me, thanks very much. I know it’s my own fault that I didn’t come last week and you don’t have to help me, so I really appreciate it.
Staff: Absolutely. We do our best to help out and our overall mission is to help with students’ exposure to different forms of art, so it would be too bad if you missed out on this particular exhibit.
Student: Yeah, I’ve been interested in it for a while.
Staff: Alright, well let’s see…. Yes here’s the email, so I will just write that down and hand it to you.
Student: Wonderful! Thanks again.
Staff: You’re welcome, and good luck with everything!
