【タスク1】地図問題対策

以下のサンプル問題を参考にしながら、地図問題を対策するポイントを確認していきましょう。

地図問題では、以下のフレーズを覚えておきましょう：

記の位置を表す表現は、基本的に方角を示す語と一緒に使用されます。実際にサンプル問題の設問を元にして、上記のフレーズを使用してみましょう：

地図問題では、地図上の建物が変化したり発展を表す必要があります。そのために必要なフレーズも覚えておきましょう：

建物の変化：be turned into, be transformed into, be changed into, be converted into, be replaced by(with), make(s) way to
建物の発展：develop into, grow into
増加：be constructed, be added, grow in number
減少：be cut down, be removed

減少を表す “cut down” は主に森林などを主語として用いられます。

The trees in the southwest of the town were cut down to make way for a technopark.

最後に、今回紹介したパラグラフを全て繋げてみましょう：

The maps show the developments that have taken place in Frenton over a period of 22 years between 1990 and 2012.
It is clear that Frenton underwent a dramatic transformation over the period, becoming noticeably less green and more built up.
The only places that remained the same in Frenton over the period were the school and the library. The playing fields in the south of the town, for example, were replaced with flats. Secondly, the houses in the west of Frenton were also made larger and factories were constructed on the site. The bank, located west of High Street and north of the school, was converted into a restaurant and the trees in the southwest of the town were cut down to make way for a technopark. One further development was the expansion of the hospital, located west of High Street.
